Touring down PCH| Why L.A. beaches are a must-see.

Over the weekend I got to hang out with two of my closest friends from Michigan. Allison Scott and Sarah Light worked with me at a news station in Traverse City. Now Sarah lives in Fresno, CA and Ali is still in Michigan but wants to live here in L.A.

On Saturday both Sarah and I got the chance to show Ali around. So the first place we met up was Santa Monica Pier. It wasn't too crowded that day at all and was actually a lot warmer than I thought it would be. The pier is great for photos, of course, the ocean looked amazing and the foods are very much carnival or fair style. The pier is also a very good place for families thanks to the rides that are over there. On the pier is the restaurant Bubba Gumps which Ali had never had so that's what we ate for lunch.

After soaking in Santa Monica we went down a little further and hit up Venice Beach. We decided that Venice is a place that you go just to say you went. I'm sure there are some areas that people like to go but with as many people that are there and homeless as well, it's not a place you want to stay and hang out in. There are a lot of stores, a lot of weed and many people performing. So after a quick walk, we decided to go to the Venice Canals and...you guessed it take pictures. The sun was setting so the scenery was great. The Canals are definitely a must-see. We wrapped up the night by hitting up a bar (Rick's Tavern) in Santa Monica that actually had some really good food and reminded us of bars that we used to go to in Traverse City, MI.

I love living in L.A but as long as I've lived here I haven't explored my city like I want to. So this weekend was really fun for me and makes me excited to continue to try and visit new places. If you get some free time get out and explore your city, even if you can't get a friend to go with you don't let that stop you. Do you and live life unLEESHed.
